Annual ISSC Table Quiz on Friday Feb 3rd 2012

With January out of the way it is time to kick start another year of ISSC fun and games. We begin the year as usual with a Table quiz to ease us out of winter and back onto the playing field. It is a great opportunity for new prospective members to get to introduce themselves and older members to reconnect with each other. As it is the first weekend in February with the Six Nations and Superbowl happening on Sunday it is the perfect way to kick off the weekend. The quiz master will again be David Johnston and he will be challenging our powers of memory to see who has stayed alert this winter.

Saturday January 28th – Australia Day Aussie Rules game

Its that time of the year again when we take on the Aussies at their own game to celebrate Australia Day (they will return the favour on Paddy’s day). Last year the Irish team secured a fine draw so lets go one better this year.

The game is being held at Montgomery Park in South Vancouver (Oak and 45th) this Saturday January 28th at 1PM.

As always we advise people to ensure they have health insurance before playing in any games.

If you have any interest in playing some Aussie Rules this is a great day to try it out as it is a relatively relaxed affair so early in the year. The invitation is open to everyone so if you have friends who are not club members or not even Irish but who are interested bring them along to give it a try.
