ISSC Mens Team enjoying the Victorian Highland Games in 2022!

Men’s Gaelic Football has gone hand in hand with the ISSC since its formation back in 1974. Football has continued to be very successful in Vancouver, and the club is now consistently represented by two football teams, the Vancouver Harps and Vancouver Celts.

Our men’s footballers compete in the league and championship in Vancouver as well as participating in the Western Canadian GAA Championship and in the North American Championships annually. We also regularly attend at tournaments in Seattle and Victoria, B.C.

The club won the North American Intermediate Championship in 2011 in San Francisco and again in 2014 in Boston. In 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017 the Vancouver Harps have competed at Senior level including an appearance in the senior final in 2016.  The ISSC Mens team were the first team crowned the inaugural Vancouver GAA Mens Senior Champions. The cup named after David Gavin.

Over the last decade, we have had continued success in the Western Canadian GAA championships. Our Mens team in 2019, went on to win the double, taking home the Western Canadians Championship in Edmonton and the Vancouver GAA championship.

Each year promises to be an exciting one on the playing field and we welcome players of all levels to come out and play. Regardless of your ability, our ultimate goal is to provide a platform that is socially inclusive, and above all else, we want people to enjoy playing Gaelic Football with the ISSC Vancouver.

If you are interested in playing Men’s Gaelic Football, please send an email to isscvancouver@gmail.com or contact the ISSC Vancouver on Facebook and one of our representatives will get back to you as soon as possible with details of training times, locations and tournament information.
