Transfers and Sanctions 2023/2023

Camogie

A player wishing to register to play camogie with the ISSC does not require a transfer if they have not taken part in a competitive match for a period of 24 months.

Please complete the Exemption form and obtain signatures if you have played camogie before but do not require a transfer/permit.

Otherwise, please follow the steps below to obtain a transfer or permit to play!

Transfers

To transfer to the ISSC from a club outside of Canada please complete the transfer form  and send it to your current club and county secretaries to also sign off on the transfer.  The deadline for transfers is 31st March however we highly recommend that you start the process early to allow for time for it to be approved!

Permits

Permits are given to players who move to Canada after 31st March. You must be a registered member of your current club to be eligible for a permit to play with the ISSC. To obtain a permit to join the ISSC from a club outside of Canada please complete the transfer form below and send it to your current club and county secretaries to also sign off on the transfer. 

The deadline for transfers is 1st July however we highly recommend that you start the process early to allow for time for it to be approved!

Transferring from a club in Canada to the ISSC

To transfer from a club within Canada to the ISSC a player must complete this form. Please ensure your current club secretary has signed the form before sending it to the ISSC secretary at secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie. The deadline for transfers is 1st July.

Ladies Football

A player wishing to register to play Ladies football with the ISSC does not require a transfer if they have not played League or Championship football for a period of 3 years provided other eligibility conditions are satisfied.

Please complete the Exemption form and obtain signatures if you have played football before but do not require a transfer/permit.

Otherwise, please follow the steps below to obtain a transfer or permit to play!

Transfers

To transfer to the ISSC from a club outside of Canada please complete the transfer form below.

Send the form to your current club secretary to sign off on the transfer. If possible, obtain your current county secretary signature as well.

Email the form to the ISSC secretary at secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie

Once the form is returned to you, please send it to your current county secretary. 

Once signed, return the form to the ISSC secretary who will obtain the New County secretary signature. 

Once you receive the form back again, please send it to info@lgfa.ie for final approval.

Mens Football

If you have ever played a competitive game for a football club you must acquire a transfer or sanction to be able to play football for the ISSC. Please follow the steps below to obtain a transfer or permit to play!

Transfers

To transfer to the ISSC from a club outside of Canada please email secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie with your name and the club you last played for. The club secretary will initiate a transfer through the online system and you will be required to provide further details there. 

The deadline for transfers is 31st March however we highly recommend that you start the process early to allow for time for it to be approved!

Sanctions

Sanctions are given to players who move to Canada after 31st March. You must be a registered member of your current club to be eligible for a sanction to play with the ISSC. 

To obtain a sanction to join the ISSC from a club outside of Canada please email secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie with your name and the club you last played for. The club secretary will initiate a transfer through the online system and you will be required to provide further details there.

Transferring from a club in Canada to the ISSC

Dual Players

Players who play football with the ISSC and hurling with a different club must complete the form below. Please send the form to either club secretary at the start of the season.

Insurance

If you are arriving in Canada after March 31st and are therefore only eligible for a sanction/permit, it is necessary to purchase insurance to be eligible to play. Permits will NOT be processed unless insurance has been purchased and it is to be provided with the Sanction/ Permit form.
